Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party is one of my favorite events of the year! This year’s theme was "Rolling Out the Red Carpet". I love getting all of our volunteers together in one room because it gives us the opportunity to celebrate them and their dedication to our students!
In 2016, First Glance had 93 consistent volunteers who selflessly gave their time to our students. First Glance could not function without our amazing volunteers taking the time to invest in our students and the community. Thanks to our volunteers, we are able to serve over 800 students a year!
To better recognize the hard work of our volunteers, we created the Volunteer of the Year honor. All of our volunteers were asked to nominate a fellow volunteer to be honored for their dedication to the First Glance mission. This year we were proud to name Jeff Horner as First Glance's Volunteer of the Year. Jeff faithfully serves at our Rec Night program every Thursday. He has developed great relationships with students and is known as the "Pizza Guy" because he encourages students to talk about scripture in exchange for a ticket to get a free slice of pizza.
