The safety of our students, volunteers, and staff is important to us. Please know we are cleaning the facility following all recommendations of the state and the CDC.
Mondays 7:00-9:30 pm
As our students transition into adulthood, they are given the opportunity to continue receiving encouragement, support, and help with practical needs. Volunteers and young adults share a meal and fun each week. Open to ages 18-29.
Creates a safe environment with academic support, physical activity, and spiritual direction. First Glance is excited to partner with many different local churches and organizations to host this program! Click here to learn more.
Ladies' Night Out
Tuesdays 5:00-7:00 pm
Guides teen girls through tough issues such as relationships, gossip, sex, and self-worth. This happens through lessons, projects, and opportunities for our girls to connect with adult female volunteers through mentorship.
Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 pm
Provides community and allows volunteers to encourage the young men of our community to be men of character. Each week this program engages through abundant conversations, team sports, manly projects, and boyish shenanigans.
Skatepark - CLOSED
Tuesdays 6:00-10:00 pm
Our indoor skate park and shop provides a place to connect with other skaters and build their skills and equipment. Adult volunteers are present to teach skating techniques and tricks and to provide encouragement for daily life.
Wednesdays 5:00-7:00 pm
A program specifically for moms and families. This program is geared toward young mothers, fathers, and their families to help them connect to each other, a mentor, and to the community on a more meaningful level. This is a safe place where young families can come and do life with people who want to see their family shine!
Wednesdays 5:00-7:00 pm

Prepares children to be successful in school. This happens through lessons, a classroom-like structure, and the love and care of adult volunteers who are consistent and steady with the children each week. The program is a hands-on, sensory learning center that offers ways for moms from The Connect to further engage in the learning process.
Thursdays 7:00-9:00 pm
Provides students with a safe and fun environment to participate in sports and activities with friends and volunteers. There is an opportunity for students to connect with adult volunteers through conversations, activities, and competitions. The format is fairly unstructured, but relationships are constantly being built and developed.
The ALLEY - CLOSED
Fridays 7:30-10:30 pm
The Alley is for high schoolers all over Greater Akron to come on Friday nights to have a safe place to hang out, have fun, and build relationships. It is a “teen nightclub” that has a live DJ, dancing, fun drinks, games, and more!
Soul Sisters - CLOSED
Tuesdays 4:00 pm
This is a bible study for young women from The Connect and Ladies Night Out to engage the Bible with mentors. Several of the mentors are former students who used to attend the study, and are now leading!
Student Leaders - CLOSED
Thursdays 5:00-6:30 pm
Cultivates leadership skills and challenges students to grow as leaders among their peers. Students apply, interview, and are accepted into the program. They are paired with adult mentors and given opportunities to serve at First Glance and in the community.
Almost Leaders - CLOSED
Thursdays 5:30-9:30 (bi-monthly)
Almost Leaders is a transitional program for students who are seniors in high school or have recently graduated high school. Our goal is for these students to continue developing in leadership roles as young adults. Students and mentors participate in bi-weekly meetings where a meal is shared and leadership training is presented. Opportunities for one-on-one mentorship with an adult volunteer is also available to these students.
Hip Hop Night
Thursdays 5:00-7:00 pm
A gathering of hip hop artists of all ages: beat makers, lyric writers, singers, rappers, and musicians who record original music, have cyphers (freestyle hip hop sessions), and put on regular performances.
