DESPERATELY OUT OF SPACE!

First Glance is exploding.  One of the reasons for the expansion is that First Glance is desperately out of space.  We are getting as many as 240 students in a night in a 5,000 square foot facility.   It cannot accommodate the number of students that desire to be part each night.  The over-crowded facility is also causing FG to be less effective at fulfilling its mission.  Also our Teen Moms program meets at a local funeral home.  Although we appreciate the space being donated, it is not idea for hosting our program.  Additionally the abstinence program is being run out of a home in the community.  There is a huge need for additional space in order to more effectively host the much needed programs.

FIRST GLANCE PROGRAM GROWTH

First Glance started in a local community center in 2000.  We were averaging 60 students a night when we moved to our current location in 2003.  From there we grew rapidly, causing us to add an additional night and then several other programs.  Review the chart below to see how the move allowed us to grow even more rapidly.  We expect the Explosion Project we are promoting will allow us to grow significantly again.

STUDENTS PART OF FG

Last year the GAR Foundation awarded us a grant to give each student an ID card.  This has allowed us to keep much more accurate records.  The statistics shown above  have been collected since August of 2007.  As you can see in a year we have seen over 1100 different students.  Which is over 40% of our target audience.  We do believe with a larger facility we will be able to increase that percentage even more.

You can see from this video FG is crowded.
